7 YOUTH SERVICES DEPARTMENT Our Youth Services Librarians, Cheri Aguilera and Tammy Sinka specialize in providing library services and resources for children and young adults. They strive to help foster a love of reading and learning among our youngest library users. In addition to managing their library collections, they design and implement a variety of programs and activities aimed at promoting literacy, creativity, and community engagement. Cheri and Tammy make the workplace very lively and fill it with interactive energy, especially during scheduled programs and events. They work to encourage reading and promote essential literacy skills. They take the initiative to create an inviting and educational learning space for our youth, in hopes that they will continue to use our library for years to come. *Story Hours *Summer Reading Programs *Unicorn vs Dinosaur Parties *1000 Books Before Kindergarten *Craft Time *Library Carnival *Dr. Seuss Birthday Party *Holiday Parties *Trunk-or-Treat Community Event *Advocates for Youth Services CHERI AGUILERA, YOUTH SERVICES “There are many little ways to enlarge your child’s world. Love of books is the best of all” -Jacqueline Kennedy TAMMY SINKA, YOUTH SERVICES “The library is my safe place. When I am there I can be anything I want, go anywhere I want, and see anything I want.” There are many joys to being a youth services librarian. From the hugs, to the thank yous, the laughter during a very funny book being read out loud. The silly songs, crafts, and snacks. Watching the children learn to love the written word. However, the cries when it’s time to go of, “I don’t want to leave the Lie-Barrrrry” is one of our favorite moments.
