When I am there I can be anything I want, go anywhere I want, and see anything I want.” There are many joys to being a youth services librarian. From the hugs, to the thank yous, the laughter during a very funny book being read out loud. The silly songs, crafts, and snacks. Watching the children learn to love the written word. However, the cries when it’s time to go of, “I don’t want to leave the Lie-Barrrrry” is one of our favorite moments.

9 LIBRARY CLERKS Tandy Hasser is our decorator extraordinaire. She makes imaginations soar with her articulate designs and thoughtful creations. Tandy works part-time at the library, but she brings so much devotion to her tasks during the time she is here. She is extremely knowledgeable while working the circulation desk and our patrons appreciate her willingness to go that extra mile. Tandy has been instrumental in making the Homeschool Hub group so successful, and she also leads the Happy Bookers Book Club. Tandy likes to keep busy and has learned many new tasks to keep her occupied. She helps with cataloging books, filing new/proofreading library cards, overseeing overdue items, and collections accounts. She is always willing to lend a hand, and is great at asking for extra tasks that need completed. Gayle Crawford came to us through the SER National program. The SER Network of Affiliates serves over one million individuals annually under three pillars: Education, Employment, and Empowerment. Gayle has taken on many new tasks and has gained confidence in her technology skills. She has taken over most of the shelving duties, Interlibrary Loans, clerical jobs as needed, book mending, help with database cleanup, assists with the inventory, and will soon learn all about working the circulation desk. Gayle also likes to keep busy and has had a significant part in getting our Summer Reading Program tasks completed; by stuffing registration bags, cutting and sorting fliers, making copies, and organizing items. Gayle is always willing to step in and help with whatever is needed! Our library clerks perform a variety of tasks and we are especially grateful for their willingness and readiness to participate. They have great attitudes and we look forward to seeing them every time they come in. GAYLE CRAWFORD ‘Every day at this library is a new adventure for me.
