30 City average no year-end safety awards will be awarded. Those departments who do not have an accident in the year where the total preventable accidents do go over the goal, will be recognize at the end of the year but still no monetary award will be given. The Safety Committee Secretary will keep the Committee apprised of the all accidents by preventable or non-preventable accident status, by department and by individual. Individuals who have 3 or more accidents during the year will be required to take a CIRSA on-line course as while as the Safety Committee’s recommended training. Also those individuals who have 3 or more accidents in a year will be excluded the following year from their department group. The monetary amount will be determined by the safety committee and by the available funds at the end of the year. Any employee that had a preventable accident as ruled by the Safety Committee should be encouraged to attend a safety class, related to that accident to prevent reoccurrences. The class should be done within 30 days after the Safety Committee’s ruling. The monetary safety award has to be included in the employee’s taxable income.
