The Friends of the Lamar Public Library now have monthly book sales! The August Book Sale will be held on August 1 and 2 from 9am-1pm. Proceeds help go towards programs such as the Dolly Parton Imagination Library and our Summer Reading Program! New items are added every month!
Thank you to all of our summer reading participants, you made our summer INCREDIBLE! We had a Community Reading Goal of 300,000 pages. You all read a combined total of 695,721 pages. You DESTROYED it! Infant-PreK read 102,976 pages KDG-2nd read 89,546 pages 3rd-5th read 94,939 pages 6th-8th read 38,864 pages Library Staff and Volunteers read 107,895 pages Adult (including 9th-12 grade) read 261,501 pages We wanted to thank our Friends of the Library! They are incredible and the main reason we are able to offer amazing prizes, crafts, and wonderful guest performers! Thank you to the City of Lamar, Quiznos, Scooter’s Coffee, BJs Burger, Azteca Mexican Restaurant, Merle Norman Cosmetics, Little Caesars, Sonic, Lamar Parks and Recreation, The Flower Boutique, McDonalds, Bright Side Nutrition, The Homes Store, Brew Unto Others, Mission Villanueva, and Tavern 1301 HUGE Thank You to our Teen Volunteers. We have 11 volunteers who put in a lot of hours this summer and we appreciate all their hard work.
