2026 Writing Contest

In a decade's time, she’d go to therapy, filter through friendships and relationships, she’d even get a dog. She’d have mentors who believed in her when she couldn’t believe in herself, and friends who saw the light in her when she felt like a dark storm reckoning the world. She meditated and dreamed. She asked herself the hard questions and didn’t look away. She worked day and night to reset the blueprints of her reactions to meet things with kindness and understanding instead of overwhelm and irritation. She wasn’t perfect; she knew this. And she learned to love herself anyway. It took a decade to realize some things don’t announce themselves. She posts nothing about this part. There’s no challenge for it. No split screen. Just a woman who knows herself now and no longer needs proof. All her life, all she wanted was to be loved. To be beautiful in someone’s eyes. Little did she know that in a decade of time, she’d be beautiful in her own.
